Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-05-13

Last updated: 2026-10-02

This Privacy Policy describes how SimplyNoise ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the SimplyNoise mobile app and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

TL;DR: The SimplyNoise app runs without an account. Audio plays locally on your device. If you send feedback, we receive your message and name, plus your email address if you provide it. Anonymous usage analytics and crash reports are optional and can be turned off in Settings. App purchases are processed by Apple or Google; we do not see your payment details. Website store orders also require a name and email address, and payment is handled by PayPal.

1. Who we are

SimplyNoise is operated by Reactor LLC, based in the United States. You can contact us at admin@reactorllc.com.

2. Information we do not collect

In the app:

  • We do not require an account.
  • We do not require your name or email address to listen or make purchases. The optional feedback form asks for a name and lets you provide an email address.
  • We do not ask for your phone number or date of birth.
  • We do not track your location.
  • We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
  • We do not use an advertising identifier, and the app contains no advertising SDKs.

Everywhere:

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not use your information to build advertising or marketing profiles.

The app does use an analytics and crash-reporting service to understand how features are used and to fix bugs. What that involves, and how to turn it off, is described in section 5.

If you submit the feedback form in the app or on the website, we send your message and name, and your email address if provided, to our feedback mailbox. We use them to read and respond to your feedback. The message is not linked to your purchase or diagnostics identifier. The mail service briefly uses your IP address to enforce a 30-second submission limit; it does not store that IP.

If you place an order in our website store, that store necessarily collects some personal information. See section 4.

3. Information processed locally on your device

The following information is stored only on your device and never transmitted to our servers:

  • Your soundscape preferences, mixer settings, favorites, and timer history.
  • Cached audio assets for offline playback (guided sessions you have opened).
  • Your light/dark theme choice and other UI preferences.

You can clear this data at any time by deleting the app or clearing browser storage.

4. Purchases

Soundscape unlocks and the Full Bundle are processed by:

  • Apple App Store (StoreKit) on iOS / iPadOS / macOS,
  • Google Play Billing on Android,
  • The payment provider you select on the web, if web purchases are later introduced.

We receive a receipt confirming the transaction so the app can unlock the purchased content. We do not receive your full payment card number, billing address, or other payment details. Restore Purchases re-validates your existing receipt with the relevant store.

For information about how Apple, Google, or your web payment provider handle your payment information, please refer to their respective privacy policies.

4a. The website store

Separately from the app, our website has operated an online store selling individual audio downloads. Unlike the app, ordering from the store does involve personal information. When you place an order we receive and retain:

  • Your name and email address, so we can deliver your download and provide support.
  • Billing details associated with the order, such as the billing address supplied at checkout.
  • A record of what you purchased and when, including order totals.

Payments are processed by PayPal. We never receive or store your full payment card number or PayPal login credentials.

We use this information only to fulfil and support your order and to meet our tax and accounting obligations. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell or share it.

We intend to retire the website store when the current version of the app is released. If you have previously ordered from it, we will continue to hold your order records for the retention period described in section 9, and you may request deletion as described in section 8.

5. Analytics, crash reports and diagnostics (optional)

If you have not opted out, the app sends limited anonymous information to two service providers that process it on our behalf: PostHog (product analytics) and Sentry (crash reporting). Neither is an advertising service, and neither receives your name, email address, or location.

Usage analytics (PostHog). So we can see which features people actually use, the app records in-app events such as which screen you viewed, when playback started or stopped, which soundscape you selected, and whether a purchase succeeded or failed, including which product was involved. Event details are filtered before sending, and fields that could carry personal information are removed automatically.

Anonymous device identifier. To distinguish one installation from another, the analytics service generates a random identifier that is stored on your device. It is not your advertising ID, it is not linked to your identity, and it is reset if you reinstall the app.

Crash reports (Sentry). When the app crashes we receive:

  • Anonymous device model, OS version, and app version.
  • The error message and stack trace at the time of the crash.
  • A short trail of in-app actions ("breadcrumbs") leading up to the crash (e.g. "opened settings", "started Rain"). These breadcrumbs do not contain personal information.

None of this includes your IP address in identifiable form, your audio content, or your website store order history.

Turning it off. All of the above is optional. It is enabled by default and you can disable it at any time in Settings → Diagnostics, which stops both analytics and crash reporting.

6. Server-rendered content

When you visit our website, our servers may temporarily log standard request information (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and rate-limiting purposes. These logs are retained for no longer than 30 days and are not used to build advertising profiles.

7. Children

SimplyNoise is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA, UK, California), you may have the right to:

  • Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of that information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

The app does not require an account. If you send feedback, we may hold the name and optional email address you supplied in our feedback mailbox. We also hold purchase records and optional diagnostics keyed to a random identifier generated on your device. In the iOS and Android apps you can delete the records tied to that current installation from Settings → Legal → Delete My Data. Purchase records from older app versions require the email deletion route; the website has no settings menu, so email us instead and we will do it for you. Full instructions, including what to do if you have already uninstalled the app, are on our Data Deletion Request page.

Deleting your data never costs you a purchase: ownership is held by Apple or Google, so Restore Purchases will unlock everything again. For the purchase records held by Apple or Google themselves, please contact them directly.

If you have ordered from our website store, we do hold your name, email address, billing details, and order history, and you can ask us to export or delete them. We may need to retain the underlying transaction record where tax or accounting law requires it. See section 9.

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@reactorllc.com. To request deletion of feedback, include the name and approximate date of your message so we can locate it. The in-app Delete My Data control does not remove feedback email, which is kept separately from the app installation identifier.

9. Data retention

  • On-device preferences: retained until you delete the app or clear storage.
  • Usage analytics: retained by PostHog for no longer than 12 months.
  • Crash reports: retained by Sentry for no longer than 90 days.
  • Web server logs: retained for no longer than 30 days.
  • Feedback email: retained while needed to review or respond to the message, then deleted. You may request deletion at any time.
  • Website store orders and customer records (name, email, billing details): retained for as long as required by applicable tax and consumer-protection laws (typically up to 7 years), including after the store is retired.
  • Purchase receipts: retained for as long as required by applicable tax and consumer-protection laws (typically up to 7 years).

10. International transfers

If you use the Service from outside the United States, your analytics, diagnostic, and store order data may be processed in countries with different data protection laws. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on our website.
